‘Tis the Season to bring back old traditions at the Club!

21 December 2022

Last November 28th, members, dependents and guests witnessed the first face-to-face Pre-Christmas cocktail and Tree lighting ceremony since the beginning of the pandemic. Not only did we kick off the holiday season the Polo Club way, but we also saw it as a commemoration of the hope we fostered within the Club in many ways this year. After spending two Christmases under strict quarantine restrictions, it was about time that we brought back the beloved tradition of tree lighting, followed by a glorious feast and drinks for everyone to indulge in.

With over 300 people in attendance, the evening was packed with holiday cheer, joyous laughter and nostalgia. From 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, all attendees were able to enjoy a wide selection of food that was sponsored by Cibo di Marghi. A Christmas celebration would not be complete, of course, without Filipino classics such as roasted lechon baka and delectable Filipino Christmas desserts such as, puto bumbong and bibingka — all of which were added to the spread by the management. While Members and guests roamed around to try the delectable array of food items, they were also serenaded by the magical voices of the Don Bosco Choir and Manila String Machine. The Christmas hits definitely set the mood, and evoked the perfect sense of holiday spirit among the attendees.

President Christina Bautista then gave her speech where she highlighted how the event brought back magical memories of her own childhood. It was with great pleasure that she led the ceremony, as all attendees circled at the foot of the 40-foot Christmas tree, lit to perfection.

Indeed, we welcomed the yuletide season in the grandest way possible, but we also are humbled by the opportunity to be with  our friends and family in a place we call home once again. We look forward to gathering together at the Club once again for the rest of December and make new memories this Christmas as we await a prosperous New Year.
