The Annual General Membership Meeting and Elections for BY 2022-2024 was held last 22 August 2022 at the Main Lounge of the Manila Polo Club. The event signals the culmination of the Board Year, and outgoing President Robert Ramon Trota gave a speech to update all Members of the Board’s accomplishments and at the same time gave the promise that their passion project aptly called the “West Side Story” which intends for the development of the Club’s underutilized buildings and facilities in the West side will “transcend boards”. President Trota then highlighted the Club’s partnership with WOW – Walter Wong Design, an award-winning international firm specializing in architecture, interior design, landscape design and master plans. Through WOW, Members can look forward to a future-proofed Club featuring infrastructure that moves beyond sustainability into regenerative design and technology.
Following this, Treasurer Bernie Vergara discussed our audited financial statements, operating expenses and revenues for BY 2021-2022. Members were then given the chance to ask questions and give comments to the Board before the dinner buffet hosted by Hizon was served.
At the end of the event, the newly elected and re-elected Board Members were announced — Ms. Charlene Escaler, Mr. Gerry Qua, Atty. Gus Montilla, Mr. Bernie Vergara, and Mr. Robert Trota joined the current directors, Ms. Christina Bautista, Ms. Barbee Chiudian, Mr. John de Jesus, and Atty. Raffy Garcia in the Presidents Room wherein they appointed Ms. Christina Bautista as the new President of the Manila Polo Club.
