Our Library’s Book Spotlight for this week is “Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind “, a New York Times Bestseller, written by Israeli historian Yuval Noah Harari.
Sapiens in a nutshell presents the history of our species from a completely fresh perspective. It elucidates that money is the most pluralistic system of mutual trust ever created; that capitalism is the most thriving religion ever developed; that the treatment of animals in contemporary agriculture is perhaps the worst crime in history; and that even though we are far more powerful than our earliest ancestors, we aren’t much happier.
