August brings with him over 20 years of expertise in management gained from his previous stint in recognized hotels, resorts and country clubs. As General Manager, he is responsible for overseeing the Club’s daily operations while ensuring membership satisfaction and financial health.
August started his career in the hospitality industry in 1994 when he joined the Shangri-La Group as a Door Greeter at Makati Shangri-La. He spent 17 years with the Group holding various positions that included Chief Concierge, Corporate Management Trainee and Front Office Manager. August was also part of the opening team of Shangri-La Boracay. He had exposure in different countries like China, Malaysia and Hong Kong. He also completed the Advance Hospitality Management Program of the Shangri-La Academy in Beijing and Yield Management Program at Hotelschool The Hague, Netherlands.
After Shangri–La, August joined the Ayala Hotels and Resorts Group as Resident Manager of El Nido Resorts where he managed the daily operations of four islands namely Miniloc, Lagen, Apulit and Pangulasian. He then joined the SM Hotels and Conventions Group as the Executive Assistant Manager of Taal Vista Hotel. He was promoted to General Manager of Pico Sands Hotel and Pico de Loro Beach and Country Club where he stayed for two years before joining the Manila Polo Club.
